THE MAGIC OF OLIVE OIL

Olive tree is a symbol of Dalmatia, it’s hard working people and the land which only the toughest people can cultivate and live from the fruits of their hard work. You can say that olive cultivation and oil production are a big part of rich heritage of this area.

Day 1: Boarding in Trogir port, shortly after which we lift our anchor and sail in direction of Maslinica, on the island of Šolta, considered to be one of the smallest Dalmatian islands and is known for its first class olive oil. Šolta is well known for its excellent, dark olive oil and lovely little fisherman ports.
We proceed to Gornje selo, surrounded with endless olive groves, which is an absolute must see and experience destination. Following a short stroll, you will be visiting a modern age mill, which fuses tradition and impressive technology in olive oil extraction and preservation. You will be introduced to tradition of olive oil making after which we will taste Šolta’s indigenous gastronomic delights, all seasoned with extra-virgin olive oil extracted from autochthonous olive varieties- Šoltanka and Oblica. In Stomorska we spend the night onboard and have the opportunity to enjoy excellent fresh fish and other delicacies of this unique island.

Day 2: After breakfast we continue our sail towards Milna, on island Brač - third largest of all Adriatic islands (after Krk and Cres in Kvarner bay). Brač is also famous for white limestone which can be found on the island and buildings all over the world, as for example the White House is made of it. We will visit The Museum of Olive Oil Making in the village of Mirca - small place located on the northern part of the island of Brac. The village has always been known as a village of oil makers. Old machines, photographs and olive products, from oil to the ever more popular olive soap, are for the moment exhibited in one room in which olives will be processed during the harvest. In the evening a typicall dalmatian dinner is organised in a local tavern.

Day 3: We leave Brač in the morning and cruise back towards Trogir. Transfer to Kaštel Štafilić, and visit to 1,500 year old olive oil tree which was declared a natural heritage monument in 1990. The Kaštela region with its mediterranean charm, picturesque landscape and the unique composition of natural beauties was attracting people since the prehistoric times. A stroll through Kaštel Lukšić with the central castle, the richest in its reanaissance beauty, remembers the romantic legend of the tragic love between Dobrila and Miljenko. The cherry trees spread all the way up towards the Kozjak mountains, while the tamaris and pine trees are true sunshades along the beaches in Luksic. Dinner in typical local tavern with gastronomic delicacies from these parts.

Day 4: Last day of our journey we will go to Split airport.
